Great take on the theme. Good shot, too.
When I think how many people in other nations aren't free to vote or to vote freely when they can vote, I am disgusted by the number of people in our country (Canada) who choose not to vote --and then whine about who DOES get voted in. In Canada, it was about 64% in 2006.According to the UN, out of 179 countries, Canada's voter turnout is 109th!In the US, only half of those eligible to vote are registered and of those, only half actually VOTE!You just have to look at the huge lines of people who turned out to vote in the first free elections in South Africa, where you could only get a sense of it when photos were taken from the air, just what the right to vote means to those who have been denied the vote.
Very well said!I am late with my post, but here hoping you can still take a peek on my FREE stuff.
